When We Were Young…er

Tuesday, my entire social media was consumed by one topic: Live Nation’s When We Were Young Festival. The graphic for the festival looks like something I saw on tumblr in 2012 that was photoshopped by a fan as a “dream festival.” But this is….real?

This graphic dropped on social media with no warning Tuesday, causing absolute chaos among former scene kids like myself. My Chem and Paramore headlining?? Too good to be true. This is one of the most chaotic lineups I have ever seen, reminiscent of the old days of Warped Tour. Over sixty rock and punk groups are listed here, many of whom have been inactive until now. My Chemical Romance announced their return to the scene after a six year hiatus in the fall of 2019. Their American tour was scheduled to begin in September of 2020, but, well, you know what happened. They are now rescheduled for May of this year, but the band is been notorious for cancelling shows, so fans are still anxious, leading to some pretty funny tweets.

This feels like Warped Tour, and many of the bands on this lineup first gained their popularity…
